I have been looking thought had a look through the Excel spreadsheet for the bicycle model and I have found the references for all the calculations very interesting especially form "Fundamentals of Vehicle Dynamics" and "Race Car Vehicle Dynamics" these two books I will definitely be purchasing as they are a great read. However, when coming across the Longitudinal & Lateral Velocity Calculations I had seen the formula and don't know where it has come from or how it was derived. Could anyone please explain how these formulas were created as it is a very interesting approach that I have not seen in other papers online.

This excel was not created by me but by HJsimpson (Mechanical)(OP)
