Looking for help with Reuse Library and Part Families

Hi,

I am trying to make a SHCS for our Reuse Library. I have everything working except I want to allow the user to choose if the "false" body of the SHCS has a divide face on it that will signal our shop to thread the clearance hole of that bolt's counter bore.

Now I have modeled a SHCS and made a part family that is working when changing to all the various bolt sizes, however I can not figure out a way to allow this on/off option in the part family spreadsheet or the KRX file. I tried to list all bolts twice in the part family and the Working Tap option as 1 and 0 (1 being on and 0 being off) but this caused me to have duplicate DB_PART_NO which part families will not allow.

My goal is to have a Reuse Component in the Reuse Library which a user can add and select the following parameters
Screw Size, Length, Pitch, and Working Tap. This will then produce a SHCS in the assembly sized correctly and the component name altered to match the screw size x length.

If anyone has any ideas on how I can include this on/off option into my Reuse Component I would greatly appreciate it.

Thank you,
Jaime

You can use "suppression by expression" to control (turn off/on) features in a part. Perhaps you can use the "working tap" expression to control the divide face feature.

Hi Cowski,

I understand what you are saying and I have that portion working. What I need to figure out is how to add that "Working Tap" option to the Add Reusable Component dialog box. (See attached jpeg). I believe this is something that I need to alter the part family to accomplish but I am stumped.

Thanks
Jaime
