Looking for nonwoven carbon / carbon foam 1

hello everyone,

I'm looking for carbon foam which has these characters:
1. electrically conductor. that's the reason we think about carbon.
2. permeable to methanol(Liquid).
3. compressible, soft.
4. in the form of 2 - 2.5mm sheet.
I hope you can help me to find a supplier for this material.

I appreciate your help.

The first thing I did is to look for it at search engines.

I didn't find the material that I specified - compressible/soft carbon foam in the form of 2mm sheet.

most of the materials that I found was incompressible which means they are brittle under compressive load.

There seems to be a few mutually exclusive requirements
Carbon materials can broadly be divided into two..
Graphitic or amophous
The graphitic carbons are the ones with high thermal ane electrical conductivity. However both types of carbon are essentially ceramic in terms of their mechanical properties...high modulus, very low elongation to failure. These cannot be formed into soft and spingy foam.
It might be possible to mix graphite powder with a polymer and blow this into a foam.
Alternately can use carbon fibers in the form of a felt. These will have some spring to them and conduct electricty.
Again the strength of the felt can be improved by adding a polymer binder.
 
If you send me your address to maritex@upnaway I can send you a sample of fine CF felt and where to get it. It is about 2mm thick, permeable to air, liquids and is semi-conformable.
