The application is radiant floor heating. The envrionment is southern Oregon. Must operate efficiently with ambiant outside temperatures in the 30 - 60 F range with 40K BTU at 30 degrees. There are numerous swiming pool heater vendors supplying heat pumps, but most all shut down at the first sign of outside coil frosting up (approx 45F). Any suggestions?

thanks, -john-

I would call your local Carrier or Trane dealer. They can package a standard outdoor unit with a reversing valve (defrost cycle) with an indoor water heating coil which should make plenty of 105 to 110 degree water. I would suggest the use of a thermal storage tank to act as a buffer. Steve in Olympia.
