I am trying to run LPILE for some cored piers that are 3 diameters apart. Per the soils report they must be a minimum of 5 diameters apart in one direction (normal to the load) and 8 diameters apart (parallel to the load) or else I need to use a reduction factor which they gave me. How do you incorporate that into LPILE?

What about the p-multipliers for group effects?

I concur with CAD. P-Y Multipliers can be used to account for closely-spaced piles.

Do you know how to do that? I am only given one value for the p-multiplier in my soils report (0.75) but I see in the manual that you must put it based on distance from pile head.

The distance is the depth, i.e. the distance below the top of the pile.

You may want to discuss this someone more familar with this type of analysis if it is important to the project since your experience with the software appears limited.

Go to Modifications Factors for P-Y Curves and fill out two rows for Depth Points. I don't know how your pile cap set up, pile length, and soil layers but one example would be:

Depth Point, Distance from Pile Head, P-Multiplier, Y-Multiplier
1, 0, 0.75, 1
2, 50, 0.75, 1
