Dear all,

Can you please tell me if it is possible to output nodal moments in LS Dyna? I made a set of nodes, and with NODAL FORCE GROUP I can get the forces on those nodes. But I also need the nodal moments.

Regards,

Bilim

For what type of element? If these are solids then the nodes do not have moment degrees of freedom.

Hey,

You have to use database_history_node_id/set for this. nodal_force_group will only output the forces and not moments.

Hi missil3,

I will try and let you know. Thanks :)

I have tried using database_history_node_id, and now in ascii I have "nodout" output file for that specific node, but moment is not one of the variables listed. I still can't get the nodal moments. Are they supposed to be stored in "nodout"or another file?

Bilim

Sorry about that, rechecked the nodout output and it only outputs deflections.

Can you not make a cross section at locations where you want the moment info and use secforc database to get them ? Or you can ask in the LSDyna yahoo user group ( . There's not a lot of dyna users here.

Hi again,

I will try both of your suggestions, both the secforc and the yahoo group.

Thanks,

Bilim
