Hi guys,
Just wondering if someone could help me out with this...I need to know what is the major diameter tolerance for a M8.5 thread; I will really appreciate your help.
thanks in advanced

If in the US ASME B1.13M is the relevant spec. Section 7.6 in my 2001 edition deals with special threads which 8.5 mm appears to be.

You'll also need to determine what tolerance grade you're looking for.

Hi Kenat, I just checked that section of ASME spec that you just said, you are right, describes how to identify this type of 'special' threads...but not the range of tolerance of the major diameter.
thank you

So refer to section 6 "It is to be used for size limit calculation for non-standard threads, when required."
