I was brought up with transductor drives. Transductors were popular the years somewhere between Hg rectifiers demise and thyristors infancy.

But I haven't seen any for decades. Are they still used? I am talking about power ratings in the 200 - 500 kW range.

Thanks!
I am planning to use quite a few transductors, probably around 500 kW each, in an application where simplicity is a must, fast control isn't needed and weight is an advantage. Do you - or anyone else - happen to know of a decent manufacturer of such beasts?
