I need to create a new assembly, from one i have,
sombody have some script to rename the parts and the sub assemblys, so i can save with the new name?

Not sure if script is what you need, but, I would suggest that you "make new from", pick existing assembly, then through save management, save as different name.

With this file I would then use the function "replace exisiting components", accesible via right mouse click on child parts in tree that want replacing and pick up the new CAT Parts.

At least this works for me.

I use that to, but it takes to much time (assemblys with 100 parts and sub assemblys).
If sombody have a best way, i will apreciate.

Carlos - Use the Send To command and you can apply a pattern (bottom of the Save management menu) to selected files.
In the pattern box enter 2000* and it will add the number 2000 to the start of each selected file. If you enter *2000 your files selected will change to FILENAME2000.CATPart

I did resolve the problem with the file names, but in the tree i did not resolve. It´s possible to change the names in the tree, to put them as the file names??

Carlos, I would not recommend that for large assemblies. You will lose synchronization if you are in Visualization mode (working with cache turned on) and rename parts.

You can use the properties page for this. Example - Add the revision information. Now Tools --> Options --> Infrastructure --> Product .. --> Nodes Customization -- Product Instance, reference loaded - Configure...
Turn on the boxes you want displayed.

An other way to clone an assembly is to use DMU nav feature "save as frozen" found under tools/dmu data flow. Here you can chose how to export it and if prefix is wanted
