Make user role default?

I have made a user role that I would like to make the default. Currently, each time I launch a session, I have to go to the roles palette and select my role. I only have one role that I need so this route seems to be unnecessary. Is there a way to make this user role my default when NX launches?

Thanks in advance.

Unless someone has made your user area of the system 'read only', when you start a new session, the settings used in your last session will still be in effect.

Note that a Role is NOT actually invoked when you launch NX, but rather the system uses the settings found in a file named 'user.mtx' which can normally be found at:

C:\Documents and Settings\<your user ID>\Local Settings\Application Data\Unigraphics Solutions\NX4

What happens when you invoke a Role during a session is that the settings stored in the Role will be applied to the current session and upon exiting (as long as you leave your session under normal controls, i.e., you don't crash or use 'end task') the settings for the current session will be saved in the 'user.mtx' file. That's why changes made during a session, even if you don't save/update your Role, will still be in effect until you do invoke a Role.

Thanks John.

I took my saved .mtx file and replaced the user.mtx file located in C:\Documents and Settings\username\Local Settings\Application Data\Unigraphics Solutions\NX4.

That worked great....not sure why the user.mtx file was not keeping the latest settings after exiting normally.

Oh well...got it straight now, thanks again.
