Supplementary Requirements (S13) in SA-193 states that all Zinc coated fasteners shall be marked with ZN. However, these are supplementary requirements they're only applicable when specified. Our AI requires that all SA-193/194 fasteners have the ZN marking. Our supplier says it's not required, and "99% of their customers waive the requirement". There's a decent up charge for adding the ZN to our purchase specifications.
How are others getting around this requirement for ASME VIII Pressure Vessels?
