I'm running a line girder analysis for a simple span (200 ft.) exterior girder. The girder violates the minimum depth guidelines by AASHTO LRFD but satisfies the strength and serviceability requirements. MDX reports the LRFD rating at splice locations is governed by concrete (it has the rating code 'C' next to the rating factors). Is the program checking for concrete compression in the deck? Compression in deck concrete is typically never a concern and I can't pinpoint what section in the the LRFD code is this based on?
Thanks for the help and opinions.
