Does anybody know how you would set up a threaded mechanism to work?

I want to recreate the turning of the threaded part to product movement/adjustability in another. I would not normally show/use thread but this mechanism depends on it.

A similiar mech is that used on kneeling chairs, where a double ended threaded component is used to adjust chair height/posture.

Thanks.

You can use a Rack & Pinion Gear connection in Mechanism to create the effect of a thread.

Alternatively, you can create a helical curve to represent the thread(s) on the rotating part, and a point on the other part. Create a point on curve constraint using these two features and you will get the same effect. You can then hide the curve and point. A search in this forum should result in a few methods for creating helical curves.
