Mechanism which perform two moving direction with only one cylinder.

Hello every one,
I want to make a part for marking NG product.
The part include a cylinder, a pen will be attached at one top of cylinder.
The head of pen sinks in a painting oil pool. When NG product is detected, the cylinder will bring the pen to touch the product for marking, and the head of pen must be lifted up to touch product. When the cylinder return to original point, the head of pen must be raise down to sink into painting oil pool.
I want to make 2 move above with only one cylinder.
May anyone know a mechanism which can do that.

A six bar mechanism might be able to do what you are needing. Google is your friend.
