Hi
I have created independent instanec of few parts and connect them together in CAE. When I want to remove duplicated nodes with Instance-Merge/Cut, program creates new part with orphan mesh and I have to assign sections again and also aftere deleting such a part there are missing some of the features of the assembly.

Is there a different way to merge these nodes without destroying assembly ?

Regards,
Greg

You would have been better to create a single instant rather than merge nodes from two parts. You can always tie surfaces together of different parts so in effect creating a single part though the results at the tied interface can be a little messy. You would at least retain all your section property assignments.

Try the surface to surface tie constraint. The results might be as "messy" as you expect ;)

Surface to surface tie constraints use lot of memory. I have 8 GB memory and am having problems with my model due to surface to surface tie constraints.
