Merging two parts

Hello all,

I'm trying to merge two parts [different materials (I do it via section assignments)] into an assembly with the procedure described here:

However, when everything is merged, only one material (aka section assignment) is transfered to the newly created part. Does anybody have an idea about why is this happening?

Probably you need to tick the option to retain the partitions when merging.
