Mesh on Mesh?

Hi i need to mesh a surface but part of this surface is already meshed beacause it's the mesh of another surface and i want them to be congruent. Is there any way to tell patran to create a shell mesh on the new surface around the existing shell mesh?

I want to add that i don't have any geometry of the existing mesh, just the mesh
