Is there any fast way to do this? I want to model a length of ANSI roller chain between two sprockets -- I can only think of doing it by modeling the individual links then constraining them together, or making a 2D sketch of the chain links, both grueling procedures. Is there a simple way to start with 1 set of links and multiply them along a curve?

I had a play with this a number of years ago.
Sketch the links and then use Instance Geometry Along Path.
The attached part lets you edit the expressions of both sprockets. Enter an approximate centre distance.
It rounds the chain length to the nearest link then adjusts the sprocket centre distance.
