Modifying the input file

How can I run the modified job.inp file in Abaqus CAE , every time I make the change inside my input file and then I import the file into Abaqus , it keeps asking me to overwrite the current existing job file and when it does that the lines which I added in my job file are gone.

What kind of 'lines' did you write? Overwrite message is simply because the name of the input file is the same as a pre-existing model in your current viewport.

This happened with me when i modify the input file and import it inside Abaqus CAE. You have two method to solve this problem, the first method is, you can modify the input file inside Abaqus CAE then run your model, the second method is do not import the file to Abaqus CAE after modification. Just use abaqus Command prompt to run your model.

It depends on what you are doing in the input file. CAE development lags behind the options available for the input files. So, certain features will not show in the CAE such as rebars or gap elements, to name a couple of elements.

Thank you all , I managed to fix the problem , all I needed to do is to select the edited input file and run it when I run the job.
