Is it possible to move a component by dragging it instead of having to click on "move component" each time. Also, with SolidWorks, when a subassembly is inserted into a main assembly, the subassembly needs to be made flexible in order to allow components to be moved manually the way I want to. Is there something like this in NX?

You can move un/under-constrained Components while in the Assembly Constraints function without having to switch to the Move Component function, but if you're just sitting at the desktop without being in either the Assembly Constraint or Move Component, you can't just grab a Component and drag it around.

As for your second question, you need to look at what's referred to as 'Override Position'.
