I try to simulate 2 body contact in 2D problem by Nastran (SOL 400). One of the 2 body is composite material, but i don´t know why Nastran no consider the contact between them.

Is it posible to do it? or i have to change it to 3D problem?

Please help.

Hi mosab2 you should read the commands BCONTACT, BCTABLE, BCBODY and BSURF in the bdf file.
If you set right them, you should not have problem.
If you want an example of contact using SOL700 contact me, I'm just study this argument.
Regards

Dear AngelicaN,

Thank you, really I read all the commands, but maybe i didn´t see the solution.

Can you send me your example?

I´m grateful to you.

Dear AngelicaN,

Thank you for your help, but when i was reading the *.dat, there is no MAT8. The problem is that when i want to simulate 2 plate (composite material) in 2D problem (X-Y plane) with a contact there are problems:
1- If I use MAT8 with 3D contact, the solution not converge.
2- If I use MAT8 with 2D contact (the real case) the program can not recognize the material.

So, I don´t know why I have this problem.

Can you help me?

Thank you again.
