I am trying to track down a small length (~50 feet) of 1033.5 kcmil, stranded aluminum conductor, covered line wire the code name is Grapefruit. For use in an old 4,160V aerial distribution. Any ideas where I can find this?

A couple of manufacturers have already said that they would be happy to make me a 10,000 foot roll of the stuff.

I have attached a pic of the distribution lines that we trying to attach to. Please spare me the suggestions of replacing the system, that battle has been fought and we lost.

Thanks for any help.

Do you really need to stay with covered? All the splices and the fused tap lines are not covered. Just use bare aluminum.

Where are you located? There are a couple supply houses in the US upper midwest which stock small reels of bare 1033 for splicing materials.

I am in Denver, but the need is in the middle of Kansas.

Try Border States Electric Supply in Pewaukee WI if you can use the bare version.
