I have some questions and need helps:
1. How to weld the horizontal bracing to bar joist top and bottom chords. I saw a lot of connection using bolt. But we think welding is easer than bolting (it is diffcult to make correct hole location on bracing angle).
2. We are going to construct a flat roof and allow peoples walking on it. The roof are made of bar joist with metal deck and concrete. waht tpyes of construction are better on waterproof for this flat roof? Can someone provide some reference books?
3. We have a W40x298 beam with 60' long span. The beam will deflect 1-3/4" (center of span) under dead loads. The deflection will be within the limit under total loads. Do we need to camber the beam? Is it possible to cambering this size beam using touch (I am able to design heating locations)?

Thank you.

The mill rolling the W40x298 can give you whatever camber you desire if stated in the order, (+/- 1/2").
