Need Oil-Resistant Spray Paint

Hello All,

I'm looking for a white oil-resistant spray paint. I need to paint some fine chain which will then be in constant submersion under mineral oil. My understanding is that traditional paints, both water and oil based, will come apart, though I have yet to do extensive testing.

The only other option I can think of is powder coat, but Iam afraid that my chain is so fine (1.5mm) that the coating will fill all of the gaps.

If the chain is constantly under oil why paint it at all?

The Help for this program was created in Windows Help format, which depends on a feature that isn't included in this version of Windows.

I stumbled upon engine enamel paint.
"Resists oil, gas, grease, rust, salt, humidity and solvents". Not sure if it can survive constant immersion, but worth a test for sure.

In lieu of using a paint I would look at using a conformal coating for your application. There are numerous systems that would be oil resistant.
I would get all my conditions down and talk with with someone like Dymax for a specific recommendation.

I spoke with krylon about the engine paint, they did not sound helpful. It's not tested for submersion. I'm going to run a powder coating test to see what happens.
