I am designing a compression test rig for tissues and I wish to use hydraulics for actuation. When I reference small footprint I would want something that can fit in a cube with an edge length of 1ft or less. My requirements on the pump and cylinder are mild. I am looking for a stroke length of less than 1" and a bore can me smaller than an inch as well. I am looking at forces on the order of 1 or 2 tons. For my application fine control over the displacement is key. I am interested in magnetic sensing capable of capturing micron level positional changes.
My circuit would be very simple consisting of just the motor, pump and actuator along with a manifold and valving required for safety and control.
Any advice in finding a suitable vendor would be much appreciated/
