Negative sequence currents - Generator

"Generator shall be capable of continuous operation at rated voltage and frequency on an unbalanced load at rated current but containing a 10% negative sequence component. Temperature limits may be exceeded by 5 ºC at this condition."

If I understand the above clause correctly, if the generator insulation is rated F/B, with a continuous negative sequence component of 10%, the temperature rise may exceed class B but will not surpass class F.

Is my understanding correct?

That depends on the nameplate rating. If the rated kVA is at a Class B rise, then it is saying that the winding temperature can exceed the Class B rise by 5 deg C.
