Does anyone know of some internet resources defining NEMA motor frame sizes (i.e. physical dimensions for bolt patterns, shaft size etc)? Some searching around on general purpose search engines did not prove successful.<br>
Baldor & Reliance both offer tech pages with dimension drawings.I think both also offer CD catalog's if you fill out their form's! "try the site below I find it usefull"<br>
Dimensions are defined in National Electrical Manufacturer's Association (NEMA) Standard MG-1. Any motor manufacturer can provide you this kind of data. Some of the dimensions can be determined from the motor frame number. Example: For a foot-mounted motor the dimension from the floor to the center of the shaft, in inches, can be determined by dividing the first two numbers of the frame size by 4; or say a 75 HP, 1800 RPM, 365TS frame motor, the dimension from the floor to shaft Center-Line is 36/4=9.0 inches. Kind of useful to get a rough handle on motor physical size if you know the frame size. [sig][/sig]
