Hello. This is my first post at this forum
I would like to know where can I find the fire regulations to apply to AHU rooms that are used as Fresh Air plenum. The Supply and Return Air is conducted through ducts, but the fresh air is taken from a louver at the wall and circulates through the room to the fresh air intakes of each AHU.
My concern is that all those AHU rooms are populated with all kind of electric cabinets, IT servers, uninterrupted power supplies and other devices powered with batteries, etc. They are even used as store for furniture and scrap. Any smoke generated at the AHU rooms will be instantly spread to all the rooms. Therefore, I guess that the AHU room should be treated with the same strategy as an Air Duct.
I would like to know what normative can I use in order to support my request to mitigate this risk (either by using ducts for the Fresh Air, or by leaving all AHU Rooms as clean and free of fire hazards as an air duct)
Thank you

I edit my question for clarification: what I need to know is not how to solve the problem, but to find an NFPA or other code that I could put into the table of the administrator and force him to provide the resources for the solution.
