Hi, in the application I'm designing, there is a mechanism where a small metal piece strike another metal piece at a maximum speed of 1 m/s.
This will a create a sound. I wonder if it's possible to coat the metal piece with some kind of material (like rubber, or something better) that'll muffle the sound of the impact.
And finally, enclose the whole thing in a house that'll further decrease the sound to the outside.
What are my options? I wish to make it inaudible to a human operator.
Thanks
