Hello,

I need to know how can I calculate the noise level in piping (Ambient air flow), with and without thermal insulation?

Not really sure that you can calculate the noise. Generally, there are empirical studies that show how much noise is generated at measured velocities. Then the ductwork/piping is sized accordingly to keep the noise level down.

Hi,
You should consult a third party to get a mapping of your piping system and a proposal for mitigation .
Based on my experience.
Good luck

Is this for HVAC?

Consult ASHRAE.

Remember - More details = better answers
Also: If you get a response it's polite to respond to it.

See previous discussions on this topic on Eng-Tips - you can do a search on noise calculations. There is some attenuation from pipe wall thickness also.
Am not an insulation expert, but as far as I know, thermal insulation is not the same as noise insulation.
