Hi . I am reviewing a non load bearing masonry wall which has a bond beam at top just to the under of the slab with a light course over the bond beam to fill the gap .I am of the view that the masonry wall should have some restraint at the slab rather than a bond beam just under the slab running horizontally all across.thoughts???

Yes, the top should be restrained. There are a few ways of doing it. A piece of angle each side, at intervals, fastened to the slab, is one way.

Similar idea for a slab.

We typically use angles as hokie said. There are some products (maybe H&B?) that work for new construction as well, but whenever I specify stuff like that they always want to swap it out for angles/ channels since it's easier to do after everything is constructed.
