Non Metallic Rebar

I have seen a lot on the use of fiberglass but what experience is there in the US with Basalt Force rebar? I understand that the Florida DOT is considering and may have used to extend bridge life from 50 to 150 years?

I have used it in residential foundations. Stronger and more resistant in corrosive environments than normal rebar.

Only drawback besides the cost is that it must be shop formed. No size bar can be bent in the field.

About Basalt Force rebar - What is the modulus of elasticity for this material?

I looked at their website but don't see that info.
Thermal coefficient is similar - that's nice.
Also from the website, I see it's lighter than steel but I would not expect the weight of the rebar to contribute a large percentage to the weight of the slab. Guess they're try to "sell" it....


About Fiberglas rebar - What is the modulus of elasticity of THAT? Seem s like it would be an issue to me but maybe not. I think they use FG fibers in concrete but I still would think strain compatibility would be a thing.
