Hi all,

We have recently upgraded to NX 6.0.5.3, MP 1 from NX 4 - one of the biggest nuisances for our users is the rendering of views in drafting (usually while working with assemblies). Often, when we zoom in, perform a task, then zoom back out, the edges of parts are disappearing. In order to see the edges again, you either have to Regenerate Work or Update the actual View (even if view isn't out of date)

GTAC site says the issue will be resolved in MP 3. But, in the meantime, I'm trying to see if we can tweak the Visualization Performance Settings to minimize how often this occurs. Everyone is willing for slight performance impact to ensure you don’t have to Regenerate Work so often. (I’ve run Evaluate Graphics Performance on a few computers, all options have “little performance impact”)

Based on your experiences with these settings, any recommendations? After playing around, I have:

***************************
Uncheck - Disable Translucancey
Uncheck – Disable Plane Translucency
Uncheck – Backface Culling
Uncheck – Disable Line Antialiasing
Uncheck – Disable Full Scene Antialiasing

Check – Retain Analysis Data

Repair Incidental Damage = Immediately

Uncheck – Render Solids Using Stored Facets

One other setting you may wish to check is to go to...

Customer Defaults -> Drafting -> View -> Threads]

...and make sure that the option titled 'True Hidden Line' is NOT toggled ON.

i had the same issue so i went back to NX6.0.5 i was also advised that it's not worth installing MP's unless you have an issue, just stick to inatalling the MR's

Just an update if others are having this issue.

First, True Hidden Line was toggled off.

Second, the one setting that we did set that seems to minimize (but not eliminate) this issue is setting the following:

Preferences --> Drafting --> View Tab --> Borders and check the Display Borders box

Have no idea why it helps, but it seems too.
