How do you remove the default grid from the drafting mode in NX

There will be 3 toggle buttons in the upper right of the dialog, one of them is to show/hide the grid.

That will work for the session, but I believe to permanently turn it off, you need to edit your ug_metric.def or ug_english.def file & set the customer default for UG_showDrawingGrid to off.

I believe the grid status is saved with the file, so if you turn it off it will stay off until you turn it back on. However, if you want the default to be off for new parts that you create, then editing the .def file will be necessary.

cowski,

File is what I meant by session. Sorry for the confusion & thank you for the clarification.

Tim, I'm the one that should apologize. I was thinking of my definition of session (shut it down for the day - go home, today's session is over) rather than UG's definition of session.

I am glad that you mentioned the .def files, I rarely do any editing on them so I often forget to mention them (but since our admin quit recently I'll probably have plenty of opportunity to learn about them!).

cowski,

If you need some general help with the .def files, let me know. I can help you out with gateway, modeling or drafting...maybe some with assemblies. I've got plenty of experience turning off & on those things that GM sets as defaults when using their toolkit.

I can't post my contact information here, but if you need it, look on bbsnotes or post there.
