Hello every one,

did anybody understand how NX 10 works when measuring projected distance and taking the option "Maximum" to measure the distance between two objects along specified vector?
It is somehow explained in NX Help here but not really clear:

Explanation for the options (Maximum) and (Maximum clearance) is pretty the same, but result is different.

Here is an example to show what exactly I mean with my question:

I think the result is the same because you are measuring the distance between two points, rather than measuring the distance between objects themselves. That's probably why minimum = maximum, it only gives you the distance between the points you clicked, projected on the vector.

I cannot check that because I do no have this measurement feature version en NX12.

Thank you Suncad for your replay

I guess I found the answer to my question.
Under Projected distance command, the option "Maximum" is not same as "Maximum clearance"
Under the option "Maximum": Point X in the photo above is defined as followings:
First NX measures the maximum distance (NOT projected) between the two objects.
Then NX projects this distance to specified vector.
I hope following photo is making it more clear.
