Hello all,

2 weeks ago I had a Synchronous Modelling group on the Home tab (in Modeling) in NX12. Now, it's gone.

- It doesn't appear in the Home tab ribbon options (to turn it back on)
- I've also checked by going back to default advanced role, and it's not there either
- And I tried loading my NX11 role into NX12, but that hasn't brought it back

It has literally just vanished!

I can't think of anything I've done to cause this, as I've been away and hardly used NX since I got back.

Has anyone else noticed this happen, or know if there's a default somewhere or something that could bring it back? I'll add some pictures to show what I mean.

Thanks in advance, Carl

Try the command finder. Look for Delete face or any other function of Synchronous modeling.
Usually it will give you the option to get back the ribbon or at least create your own one.

See attached video on how to add it back.

Hi Anthony and Ronald,

It's not in customize either (pic attached).

Very strange, really does seem like it's been somehow switched off.

I'll probably just re-install NX if no-one has seen this before, but I thought worth asking just in case.

Thanks for your suggestions, Carl

So, I've just re-started my computer, and the Synchronous Modelling group has magically re-appeared on the Home tab and in customise!

Can't explain that at all, it must be gremlins.

Thanks again for your help, Carl

If it happens again, try clearing your Temporary directory. Seems there might have been some issue with an XML file.

I've had a similar issue where users are unable to access some commands in drafting and I found that their role is the cause. Clearing their profile and using the default role cures the problem.

Today i encountered the same issue, the synchronous modeling "Gallery" is missing.
But, i think i know how it happened.
I started the session by loading a .sim file. ( Did a FEM simulation yesterday.)
In simulation Pre-Post there should not be any direct modeling gallery
I then tried to switch to modeling which NX did not allow on the .sim file.

Then loaded a regular model, .prt, Modeling, and the direct modeling gallery is no more.
The logfile is full of lines like the following:

*** NOTE:: in line 704 of o:\ugnx1201\ip7\src\ugui\no\ind\tbr_file.c at Fri Jun 29 09:49:57 2018 W. Europe Daylight Time
+++ Invalid Toolbar name NX_RBN_SYNCHRONOUS_MODELING_MOVE_GALLERY passed to TBR_ask_toolbar_has_available_contents_by_name

this peculiarity disappeared in a new session.

Regards,
Tomas

"Today i encountered the same issue, the synchronous modeling "Gallery" is missing."

Happened also to me.

A restart of NX (12.0.1.7) helped.

Sounds like it's time for someone to call GTAC and report this - too many people having the same issue.
