NX7.5 Customer Defaults

We are (finally) moving up to NX7.5 and I am setting the defaults.
What could be imported from our NX6 defaults were sucessfully imported, but there were several others that I needed to set, or wanted to change.

In the NX7.5 Gateway defaults (Gateway -> Object) the colors, fonts, and widths, of several kinds of objects can be set.

I started a new part from scratch and none of these colors that were set in the defaults apply to anything, not even the default color.
All the other defaults (from differnt catagories) worked fine.

I don't get it!

What are these "colors, fonts, and widths" settings for in the Gateway defaults if they appear not to apply to anything?

Select blank template from file/new dialog.

When you created a new part from scratch did you select the "blank" one at the bottom of the file new list? Unless you select that, all the other templates listed are pre existing files which are already set for the part specific defaults.

You have two options.

Create a new file using the "blank" template and then add that file to the File-> New by editing the pax file in
UGII\templates or making you own pax file. the pax file controls the File -> New lists.

Or

Edit one of the pre existing template files to suit you defaults. Those files are in UGII\templates. They will be read only and can get overwritten when doing updates.

I initally started my new part from File -> New -> model
so going into "blank" worked the way it should.
