NX8.5 - Modeling Button - Drafting Button

Greetings,

When opening a drawing file or a model file, NX puts you in a mode that is not Modeling or Drafting. Does anyone know what this stage is called and what its purpose is?

Probably "Gateway".

Yes, but there should be an option which will open the part file in whatever application it was last filed in.

If Modeling or Drafting or ... isn't active you are "In the Gateway application."
Gateway is the foundation upon which you add different functions for different types of jobs.
Its very similar to a viewer, You can load files, view files, zoom , measure and plot but you cannot modify or create.

I do not remember when the "restore last application" was implemented. Was it there in NX8.5 ?
( I don't remember the exact name for this option, I think it's a customer default but could not find it when i looked.)
