Updated to NX 8.5 a few months back. Have a very old model with WAVE Linked Body in it. I don't know the version which the original model was created. It has since been saved in 8.5. The "hide original" option is not available when using Edit Parameters or Edit With Rollback.

This probably should have been a Promote Body, since it was a component of an assembly that was machined (hole patterns added) after assembly.

Is there a way to update the WAVE link or change to Promote Body without having to redefine the hundreds of holes that are added? We have a very confusing assembly model where you can see the original body without holes overlaid the machined body at the assemebly level. Creating havoc with weight management and our suppliers.

Can you use replacement assistant? It will search thru geometry and re-associate it preventing feature failures.

Update- I ended up manually converting everything to WAVE links. Repaired broken links in Promote Bodies- NX wants to force conversion of Promote Bodies to Wave links when using Edit with Rollback to make repairs, so I went with it. Used "hide Parents" in the Part Navigator.

Painful part was fixing all the holes and features that lost their references during the update.

wacio- I didn't know about replacement assistant. Where is it? I could not find it using command finder.

Replacement assistant is a button on the menu for editing linked bodies. It allows auto model compare and/or manual geometry reassign.
