I am trying to determine the capacity of old Simpson wood connectors from a set of existing drawings - does anyone have any ideas or pointers for where I can find this information?

The existing drawings were permitted in 1965 and note, "JOIST HANGERS SHALL BE SIMPSON TYPE F, Fd, OR 8 OR EQUAL, AND FRAMING ANCHORS...SHALL BE SIMPSON L 50 OR EQUAL." I am interested in finding reasonable design values for the Simpson joist hangers. The attached screenshot shows the only detail that shows the hangers but does not give any additional information.

Try calling the number on the connector catalog, usually the Simpson engineering support can provide information on legacy products.

I would try figuring out the gage and nail count and compare it to a current hanger.

Lexpatrie, the OP notes, "the existing drawings were permitted in 1965..."

Sounds like the best option is to reach out to Simpson and ask for their help/recommendations.
