Opening in flat head stress analysis by hand

Hello,
I would like studying better the stress analysis of junction between nozzles (opening) on flat head by formula.
Someone has pdf or can suggest me where I can study this problem?
I don't want to use finite elementh method program, but I want to study the problem from the theory.

Suggest that you find and study the methodology contained in the "Welding Research Council Bulletin #107"

(Find it yourself on the internet)

It contains both an analytical and a semi empirical methodology of evaluating these connections.

After that you can graduate to the methodologies of WRC #297 and others
