I am still new to solidworks. I build a 3D assembly, and now am trying to get a 2D line drawing. In the property manage of drawing view, it give all the standard 9 orientation options: front, back, right, left, top, bottom, isometric, trimetric, and dimentric. The trouble is, the best orientation is not among these 9 choice. How can I have arbitrary desired orientation?

Thanks.

You can create new named views in the Orientation box. See Help for details. Basically, orient the model to the view you need to see, then create the named view for future reference.

Once the view has been created you will be able to place it into a drawing and create other views from it.

See also faq559-1180 "Creates 8 ISO Views".
