I am designing a grommet to be overmolded onto a cable for use as a strain relief on an industrial sensor (no environmental considerations needed). What callouts on the drawing can I make to ensure proper material adhesion to make sure the grommet can withstand a reasonable amount of pull force. Does anyone know of applicable standards for this? Thanks for the help.

Generally when designing a grommeted connection for strain relief, the intent is to transfer the potential failure mode from an undesirable point to a point more accessible or fixable. I would suggest finding that optimal point at which it is as strong as possible with out making assembly too difficult.
