I have a Draft Pro Exl pen plotter that I would like to use on a windows xp system either with Acad 14, 2002 0r 2004, it used to work on my windows 98 system. However I need an updated driver to run it on XP.
I realise that most companies abandoned this type of plotter years ago, however maybe there is someone out there still using a pen plotter who would like to tell me where they got an updated driver or what they did to get an hgpl plotter to work with windows Xp.

You can set up the plotter in AutoCAD to use an AutoCAD supplied driver and not the system driver. Use Plotter Manager and select My Computer settings for a local connected plotter or Network Plotter Server for a networked one. AutoCAD has a decent selection of plot drivers. Try some till one works.

I found a Winline classic plotter driver, I have not tried it yet. Winline says it will work.
I had tried using the Autocad supplied driver for the HP plotter, and kept getting a hardclip error message. On a D sized sheet, that I knew, would work on the plotter. So I assumed that the xp system was messing it up. I will go back and play with this again, using several of the other drivers. If that does not work, I will come here and grovel again.

Have you tried Driverguide.com for a driver for your plotter.

Yes I have, that is where I found the Winline driver.
Which I can buy for about a hundred dollars.
