PET Production via direct esterification of PTA

Dear respectful elders of chemical/process engineering,

I'm working as a process engineer in place where produce virgin PET resin via direct esterification of PTA and MEG. Our MEG/PET ratio close to 335/1000 (kg/kg) and our managers push us to reduce this ratio.

Question is simple, what is your lowest EG/PET ratio in PET production? İs it possible to reach stoichiometric ratio? If answer is yes, how? Could you give some clue for your young colleague please

I'm not in this industry, but it seems to me that you aren't likely to get many answers in this regard.

Have you tried looking on Google or Google Scholar? Perhaps such knowledge is widespread and not secret. If so, you should be able to find literature on production processes and production ratios. If you can't find anything, it is likely that such process knowledge would be considered trade secret or a competitive advantage. As such, it would be unethical and unprofessional to share such knowledge.

You are definetely right but all threads in this forum also getting someone a competitive advantage, I think we should get over this to improve our industry.
