Can A53/A106/API 5L pipe be substituted with A333 pipe when used in crude oil refining refining?

I suspect "yes" if the substitution is A333 for one of the others you listed. There would, of course, be exceptions and qualifications.

I suspect "no" - in general - if the substitution is attempted the other way.

It would depend on the grade of API 5L pipe in use. Some grades of 5L would be of higher strength than might be A333.

You also have to check if the crude oil need a HIC tested material, check the allowable stress for the internal pressure and check the weldability of the grade replaced with the existing one (Equivalent carbon).
