Hi everyone,
ASME VIII (pressure vessel code) code case 2901 request to check the nozzle flange rating by an equivalent pressure converted from the external loads.
The external loads of nozzle flange on pressure vessel come from the mate flange of piping. Does Caeser II convert the constrain loads(the moment and axial tensile force)to an equivalent pressure to check the piping flange rating? If not, how to make sure the piping flange will not leak under the constrain piping loads by using Caeser II?
Thanks.
