I am a structural engineer with 15 years of experience.
I want to switch to Bridge design.
Which are the good books on bridges.
Which are good softwares.
Is it easy to switch & finally
suggest about job opportunities in Bridge design.
As for which books and software are best, no one can definitively say. It's sort of like saying which is better, . . .a hammer or a saw?
Is it easy to switch [to bridge design]. . .[/i]"
Sure it's easy, . . .as easy as falling off a turnip truck ! Actually, kidding aside, bridges are a specialized structure with their own unique problems and code requirements. How easy it is for you depends on what type of structure you will be assigned to and how complex the site conditions will be. Bridge design is not rocket science, but then again some would argue that rockets are comparatively easy. ( That should stimulate a few responses.:-D )
" . . .& finally [please] suggest about job opportunities in Bridge design.
The best bet is to review job opportunities for the county and or state where you live. After all they are the owners and more likely to offer full time bridge design positions.
