Hello
I have been trying to get my plotter (HP 5Si) to work off my network and plot "B" drawings, but this has not happened yet. As you can see and tell I am not a system "IT" person. Here is my question and specs on what I am running.

My problem is I am not a two part problem but I think when one is solved the other one will be also. I need to communate through "TCP/IP" to the "Plotter/Printer" and the "Plot
queue" needs to be set up correctly.

Unigraphics II Version 15 running on "Exceed" running in MS Windows NT 4.0 service pack 5.

Here is the "Plot Queue" I am trying to use

PLRID=LJET5SI
INTEGRITY_ID=0008
DSPNM=UGIIHP
PLTVEN=HEWLETT-PACKARD
TYPE=E
MODEL=7600
SWITCHES=/2/LJ/SP=MW/D=300/AR/
MEDIA=N
OUTMOD=2
COMLN=
QUENAM=\\CADCAM\LJET5SI_QUEUE\
OUTDIR=
MSGLN=TCP/IP\172.16.1.
NPENS=16
DXBET=255
STPSZ=1016

Here is the "SYSLOG" file from system 32 directory.

*** system log created by Administrator

Node Name :- cadcam
Machine type :- Intel x86 Level 6 Revision 0502
OS :- Windows NT 4.0 (Build 1381: Service Pack 5)
error.c was compiled with CHECKING_COMPILE = 1
Session is running in codeset 1252 17

If anyone can help me out I will greatly appreciate it.

Thanks
Galen

Do you have the local ugiipqd set to login using the domain administrator account. This is crtical to making uG plotting work.

Thanks Ben

Didn't you work with David O in Pa.????

Yes I do think the UGIIPQD is set correctly. Is there a way I can test this other than what I have been doing??

Thanks
Galen

Yes. Switched jobs in mid-December. I'm now in Waco, TX.

Can you get the plot to save to disk? Once you get the plot file created, the second part is to get the plot to the printer. If you cannot get the plot created, then you need to look at the UG side. The plot to the printer is the network side.

Ben,

Did the job switch include going back to UG?

Our VP asked our tech guy for a quote on Pro/E last week, I immediately thought of your signature line!

good luck in the new job

No, it actually meant no UGat this division of L-3. Our sister/parent division in Greenville (ex-E-Systems) is all UG with no Pro/E

Yes I can save a .HPP file in a directory so the question is how do I tell it where the plotter using the IP address??

Thanks
Galen

Replace the information on the queue line with the IP address of CADCAM. Or define the quesues on CADCAM.

Hi Ben

Well I have tried everything I can think of with no results.
It seems to me that there should be somewhere to put the tcp/ip address for a plotter/printer that I am unable to locate. Any help in this would be greatly appreciated, as you know I have been trying to get this done for a couple of years now.
I would just be able to send a plot and have it end up at the plotter, you know.
thanks for all your help
Galen

I found a copy of the V18 plotter guide on my computer. Send me an e-mail at looslib-tx<at>earthlink.net and I will send you the file. It should still work as the pqmgr stuff didin't change from V10 until NX3.
