Portable Generator Input Receptacle 1

I am seeking the name of a manufactured 400A 480/3 input device which would include both camlock receptacles and landing lugs, to receive the output of a portable engine-generator. Purpose is to bypass the local fixed engine-generator in the event of failure or maintenance downtime. I had expected this to be an easy find, but I'm stumped. The application is in a technically-challenged region; I hope to avoid designing a field-assembled package. Thanks!

400 A is a lot. Beyond the standard pin and sleeve IEC units.

If this is in US, contact Hubbell and/or Appleton. I think they have standard 400 A/600 V units. That's about the maximum I've seen though.

You'll want to be sitting down when you check the prices, sizes and weights of these monsters.

Thanks, dpc. The venue is west Texas, USA (way west...). Actually, I'm trying to avoid the trash can sized pin & sleeve units you described: Most genset vendors provide their units with combinations of camlocks and welding cable assemblies so that they can tap into whatever system they might encounter. My intent is to be waiting for them with the corresponding input equipment - both camlock receptacles and landing lugs. I guess I am seeking a reverse theatrical company switch: instead of using lugs & camlocks for output distribution, I am using them for input. I am hoping to find such equipment already manufactured, off-the-shelf.

Union Connector has a company switch that's set up for connecting a portable generator. You could also look at Powertron and ESL.

Hi guys, Had a look at the Eaton one. Please don't forgt the earthing and bonding. The roll up gen should come with an earth spike. Often left at the depot or stolen by the last ueser. Critical for earth fault paths and human safety and fire with high impedance faults. The trystar one shows some with earthing and neutral points. One even looks like the Eaton one. Filed this one for future use. Thanks.
